MEC LEHARI REGRETS COVID-19 CASES REPORTED IN THE DEPARTMENT



The MEC for Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari has noted with regret the five COVID 19 cases reported by various Traffic Stations in the Province. Of the five, three are in Dr Kenneth Kaunda, one each in Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and Bojanala respectively.

The Department has taken all precautionary measures as prescribed; closing the affected trafffic stations, conducting decontamination process on all of them, offering psychosocial support to staff was done. This psychosocial support processes was also completed and officials were advised to self-isolate.

The Department of Health has been informed and they handled the contact tracing process.

MEC Lehari sent his wishes for a speedy recovery to the affected colleagues and guaranteed that offices when they are opebed and staff return to work the working environment will be safe to continue providing the much needed sercice to the communities.

Meanwhile all testing stations for learners and driving licenses are operational throughout the Province albeit for less applicants than usual in line with Lockdown Alert Level 3 regulations.


“We will continue to implore on the operators to do what is right which is to comply with the laws of the country. We dealt with over 3000 cases since last year. We are grateful that all those have been amicably resolved”, said Mr Moholo.

MEC pleaded with the PRE Board to be cognitive of temptations that come with the job. He said it’s reassuring that the board comprises debonaire men and women who include former MEC.
